My First Rebuild Y7/Z6

looks great man. I just got a y8 civic like 6 months ago and have been trying to decide weather to go all engine or boost... from seeing this I just might go all engine
Thankz, I'm glad to be an influence! There are some pretty mean all motor Y8's running around the interwebz.

just read through the whole thing man and its a beautity i tell ya!!!
I know, I can't wait to hear it crank up! Thankz for checking out the build, I'll keep plugging at it till it's done.

But everything is kinda on hold as far as updates go, as the block will be in the shop for awhile most likely.
I've been uber busy with work and crap and had some change of plans.
I picked up a 1997 Del Sol "S", D16Y7 w/ 136k miles (not my ideal car but a big upgrade from the VX)and I sold the Hatch to cushion the blow. I thought about keeping the hatch but I can't afford upkeep on one and a rebuild on the other right now. I'll post pics when I get time untill then I'm gonna enjoy my new A/C!

What about the engine I've been building for over a year now? Well I guess it's gonna end up in the Sol hehe!

eh, I don't really see a need for one but feel free to send me a pm with all the details ;)

One can never predict the future but yes sir that is the plan :D.

Oh and keep up the good work on the 4-door
Thank you!

This thread has given me a lot of ideas for what I want to do with my motor.

Are you going to make a new thread for the sol or just put it here?

Damn dude this is moving right along. Sad to see the hatch go but the Del Sol will definitely be more fun to ride on the warm summer days lol. Keep it up man! It's 1 hell of an experience building your first engine

Always glad to inspire :D.
I actually had to look at what section I made this thread in lol...so it looks like I'll start a new thread for the Del Sol at some point soon. I need to pull the interior apart to flush out the drain tubes and do some preemptive leak protection. I don't think I'll do alot of changes to the Sol right away other than just getting it ready for winter. But as soon as I start a thread for it I'll post a link to it here ;)

It sure is one hell of an experience for sure! The Sol is fun to drive period and I can't wait to drop the swap in. Right now though it's too damn hot to cruise with the top off, thank god for a/c lol.
My pocket is sealed shut for now but the machine shop hasn't touched my block yet either. I'm hoping by the time he gets it back to me that I'll have my money sittuation cleared up so I can continue with the build.

Man, I wish I had a good paying job. I really want to rebuild my Y7 and do a Z6 minime swap on it.

haha. A guy I used to work with used to have a 99 Si with a b16 he built and he's got all the tools I need, just he's not the easiest guy to work with haha. I might do a little bottom end tweaking when i do my minime, but I have to save up for my integra too so it's gonna be hard haha.

Yeah, that's true haha. I think I'll consider rebuilding if I keep the hatch.

The trash in the cylinder left over from the machine shop that you can't really see with the naked eye:

I figured I'd paint it up real fast too:

Kermit loves to help but didn't want to stay still long enough for a snap shot lol:
