The car was sponsored by a local shop which is frequented alot. Yeah, it looks tacky to our eye, but powdercoating = points in a car show. Just got to remember, this thing is making it to major car shows. Sucks that the people at the shows dont know it has an integra dash perfectly fit in there. :(
thats the thing....its a show car.....thats why all that stuff is unesseccary....I mean come on....he powdercoated stock ls cam gears....thats tacky as hell...whats next....neon under the car to win a few more points...? Not only does it look tacky...it is tacky....

The red parts look kinda tacky....Someone who powdercoats stock ls cam gears obviously has too much money to spend.....Ok, I guess I will be the first to ask.....whats it run....? It looks like its seen a track a few times.
theres always a hater.... im guessing your one of the JDM peolpe that think everyones car should look the same. since my friend owns the shop where i go i can do all the labor myself. he has a sandblaster, a powder coating gun, and an oven, so i did all the powder coating myself. all together ive spent $30 on powder coat and about $20 on sand. yea i admit i went a little crazy on the powdercoating but it all goes together. those pics dont even do it justice when you see it in person. and about powdercoating the stock cam gears... well the blue/polished hayme ones didnt really match. and if i left them stock looking, they would just look retarded in there, they wouldnt match anything and look outta place.

it hasnt been to the track yet because the only 1/4 strip here has a long ass gravel road leading up to it that i dont want to drive on. hopefully this year ill take it down to KC to see what it can do. my guess is somewhere in the 13's because i raced a rsx-s with a turbo that runs 13.5 on slicks and beat it by about a car length from a 20mph roll. it put down 260whp at 12psi on a mustang dyno.

to polish everything i used my friends polishing wheel starting with the cork looking compund on a large cutting wheel, then used black, then white, then the red compund, and finished it off with mothers. i had to sand everything down starting with 200 grit and ending with 1200, using 400, 600, 1000 in between the two.

thanks for all the comments. wheres the thread for ride of the month contest?

Not to be a d**k, because I do like your hatch, but you did have what, 18's rims, a body kit, excessive rear end stickers? same thing. Everyone does their own thing, his is a little different, its a turbocharged LS that makes good power, so it has go power. If getting powdercoated LS gears is stupid, whats with the stickers from Japan, excessively lit gauges, Boost is Better sticker, any lip kit, ANYTHING. Who cares, respect it for what it is.

heres the dyno sheet.

this is the new front end. bomex usa only imported 5 into the states so for now im one of 5 people to have one. the quality is awsome and feels very strong for fiberglass. fits like stock too.

a pic of it on another civic with the same sideskirts and mirrors as me. BTW the bomex sides on my car now are meant for a 2dr civic. they were 2 inches to long so they had to be cut and refiberglassed back together. they fit like they were meant for the hatch. im so glad my uncle does body work, he barely charges me anyhting to do work on my car.
