The red parts look kinda tacky....Someone who powdercoats stock ls cam gears obviously has too much money to spend.....Ok, I guess I will be the first to ask.....whats it run....? It looks like its seen a track a few times.
theres always a hater.... im guessing your one of the JDM peolpe that think everyones car should look the same. since my friend owns the shop where i go i can do all the labor myself. he has a sandblaster, a powder coating gun, and an oven, so i did all the powder coating myself. all together ive spent $30 on powder coat and about $20 on sand. yea i admit i went a little crazy on the powdercoating but it all goes together. those pics dont even do it justice when you see it in person. and about powdercoating the stock cam gears... well the blue/polished hayme ones didnt really match. and if i left them stock looking, they would just look retarded in there, they wouldnt match anything and look outta place.
it hasnt been to the track yet because the only 1/4 strip here has a long ass gravel road leading up to it that i dont want to drive on. hopefully this year ill take it down to KC to see what it can do. my guess is somewhere in the 13's because i raced a rsx-s with a turbo that runs 13.5 on slicks and beat it by about a car length from a 20mph roll. it put down 260whp at 12psi on a mustang dyno.
to polish everything i used my friends polishing wheel starting with the cork looking compund on a large cutting wheel, then used black, then white, then the red compund, and finished it off with mothers. i had to sand everything down starting with 200 grit and ending with 1200, using 400, 600, 1000 in between the two.
thanks for all the comments. wheres the thread for ride of the month contest?
