THis is my home pc desktop. I took pics of my dogs playing in the yard with a canon ae-1 35mm and then had 1hour photo put the images on a cd. I thought this pic was cool.

i use visual styles for free, with windowsXP's built-in mechanism. all that's needed is a UXTHEME patcher.

No mods, none needed.

I keep assorted crap on my desktop. Bottom right is stuff for s**t I need to do for jobs, left row is music in process of downloading and what not, top right is fonts I need to install.

and yes, it's FREE... i've never understood how anyone could pay to use visual styles on winXP when the mechanism for visual styles COMES BUILT IN TO THE OS.

When I hit the Print Screen key on my Keyboard nothing happens except the cursor flashes ....

It copies it to the clipboard. Go into paint and hit ctrl+v

pain in the ass? how so?

1. download and run the uxtheme patcher. it automatically finds the file, makes a backup, and patches it.
2. download a visual style and extract it (with paths) into your \windows\resources\themes\ directory.
3. right click on the desktop and choose properties.
4. click on the appearance tab and choose your visual style under "windows and buttons."
5. press the [OK] button.

i do agree the 3rd party programs are more friendly towards computer illiterate people, though.
