Ive used 1024x768 for years as my fav desktop and gaming resolution. I keep the refresh rate high and Im good to go.

HatchofDoom - I just now friggin realized that's the N'ring..

I use 1920x1200 on my Windows laptop (Dell D810) and 1024x768 on my Gateway Linux laptop (Ubuntu).. I have to say, I am definitely a fan of the real estate the D810 gives me..

must be... i play in 1280x1024 fullscreen as well... i tried to play in 1024x768 once and it was horrible... there was barely any free space on the screen with all the ui pieces.

i scale my ui to about 70%, so i have plenty of open space where i need it.

each individual piece of the eq2 ui is resizable.. this is how i have mine set up:

complete UIs fail, imho.... i don't like any of the full UIs for eq2 for some reason...

my ui is lightly modded:
- player window with numeric display, percentage display, and pet health/power bars
- target and implied windows with percentage display
- exp bar w/ numeric displays, zone name, game day/time, and earth time
- maintained spells window with buff names/duration/target on mouse-over
- eq2map, the modular atlas project for in-game maps of every zone (all player made)
- milquetowst infocenter for easy access to info while in-game
- streamlined display for the in-game web browser
- enhanced broker window with auto-filter and compare price mode

i'm about to put a new compass in with current /loc display

Usually I hate having even one icon on my desktop, but I've been lazy ever since I last reinstalled windows after two of my hard drives got fried.

To make the icons large just right-click the quick launch area, go up to "view" at the very top of the menu and select "large icons"

I like clean desktops. My desktop at work has no icons except the rec bin. Same with the laptop. Now the home pc has Icons because the girlfriend needs icons. Booo icons Hooooraaayyy Beer.
