idk man, i have the exact same car, how many miles are on it?

70,xxx miles, so it reads

1) No one would sell you a car without telling you what engine work is done.
2) P28 ecu's don't allow you to go past 115.

Maybe your friend doesn't know how to drive, and he shifts at 5 grand? Or maybe he is misfiring/running on three pistons.

I don't really care, because a stock d16 vs a h22 is no competition. IHE give *minimal* gains.

Maybe it's not a P28? I'm not sure. What should my ECU look like then?

if you have a manual transmission 92-95 civic ex your ecu should say p28 on it....its usually under the carpet either passenger or driver side up near the dash

It should not be 125, its rated at 125 at the flywheel. You should put down between 100 and 115.

anyone who gets 125 hp on a dyno isnt stock. whp and crank hp are 2 different measurements.

Ooops...I new that...good call...the stock dyno'd hp should be in the 90's.

Yes a stock 5th gen lude is a low 15sec car, manual anyways.

But to say he beat him to 125 is garbage. The lude would of destroyed him on highend power alone.

The reason I ask this is because I do not wanna upgrade my car with mods IF they are already done. I was just looking for a way to look at the motor and TRY to determine where all those ponys are coming from!

I got my car in January so the track I do not think has opened yet. When it does, my car will "hopefully" be Turbo'ed

What up peeps? I have a 1994 Honda Civic EX Coupe D16Z6 Motor. Under the hood is all stock. (As far as I can see!) I was rolling down a local Import spot. My friend has a H22 Prelude(97-98 I believe) and I decided to race him. beep...beep...beeep! We both take off from a 40 roll I smash to 2nd and instant VTEC. I pull on him about half a car and he begins to catch up. If i am right, He should have pulled on me by about 2-3 cars right? WRONG! I kept up with him Neck and Neck ALL THE WAY TO 120-125 Mph ! All I have on my Civi is a Tonabe Exaust, 2.25 Piping and Removed Resonator. (To my knowledge)
He has Cold Air Intake, Apexi N1 Exaust, 2.25 Piping and Carsound Cat. I got mad props after that from everybody that seen the race. What do u think would have to be done to the engine (Internally) to stay up with the DOHC H22 beast? I raced other civics and even a CRX and put about 4 cars on em.

Any details? Is there a way to look and see if the motor is bored?
Can it be a fully built engine?

The car is crazy fast, and I love it 100%! BUT I wanna know why its fast!

First of all, your car should top out at 120, not 125, so i dont believe you hit 125, vtec or not. Secondly, the guy obviously has no clue how to race his own car. Third, look at the weight difference 3009lbs (lude) to 2443lbs (civic). But even having said that, 195 hp to 125 (both at crank) he should have won by more. Which leads me to believe that he is either a shitty ass driver or you caught him nappin.

iv hit 120 somehow in my 98 EX i duno if my speedo was right or not but i was goin downhill and haha yeah i duno i hit 120..? but i dont see u beatin a lude...

if his story is bullshit you might wanna contact honda, they say the car's limiter is set at 115... i'd say you're story is bullshit. i tend to believe the manufacturers specs over 19 year old punkasses
