Why isn't the 7th gen Si hatch more popular?

It's heavier because of a 2.0L engine and stiffer chassis (among other things). It's got a lower redline, but due to the higher displacement a better torque curve. Weight distrubution kinda sucks but that might be balanced more by the thick rear sway bar.

It seems like it would be welcoming to boosting and tuning, but the basic I/H/E probably wouldn't gain a whole lot.

So how come people aren't flocking to it?
Does the handling suck?
Are the stock times slow?

Can someone enlighten me?

and IMO they look like ass from the factory...doesnt mean i havent seen some sweet ones (king motorsports Mugen ep3, and shawn hilliers ep3 << SO PERFECT)

Yea. Stock Si's height is ridiculous high.
Just simple lowering makes Huge differences.

i didnt bother to read all the other replies..but to me..i think the new SI's are a big disapointment..i mean i like the way it lookz but the base model engine of the rsx ? c'monnnnnnn at least something likeeeeee i dont knooo 180hp instead of 160? but thats juz me tho

yeah i feel ya on that man!! The Si should have a dope ass high HP and TQ engine in it!! And i just dont feel the bodystyle, or the way it looks. I like my older hatch, but the newer ones just dont look as good. They shoulda just kept the coupe bodystyle.

i like hatchz better then coupes in the 5th, 6th, and 7th genz but there are some tight coupes out there
