I drove it. I didn't mind, but if it's manual, I gotta:

1. Recline the seat back...
2. Lean back and to the right...
3. Left hand on the steering wheel...
4. Right hand on the shifter...

Can't exactly follow those guidelines with the new Si.
that's because a proper racing position is sitting straight, up front, and both hands on the steering wheel. maybe the Si just doesn't suit you.

i have an o3, my only complaint about it is it needs a 6spd. it handles really well its got a decent amount of power, its a 4 cylinder that can actually accelarate in 5th gear without and forced induction. i never really liked hatchbacks but this one doesnt look to bad. it definatly needs side skirts though. the 04 taillights are horible but otherwise its still a nice car. i actually enjoy driving again. the intierior is probably leaning more twoards raceing than most people would like but thats one more thing i like about it.

EPs are british-designed track cars. don't forget the Si/SiR is the more economical version of the Type R, which was the main focus of the 7gen hatch when it was being designed.

The exterior of the car was intentionally copied by Honda from the Focus. I dunno why...

Odd.

Honda copies Ford's hatchback.
Ford copies Honda's coupe.

People say that Ford copied Honda first because they saw the pre-production look of the 2001+ Civic coupe. I can't recall when that generation of Focus' came.

But since Honda did copy the Focus hatchback with their CTR (released in 2000), it's hard to tell who copied who first? Honda and Ford probably shook hands on it.

it's just european hatchback design. if you look take a peugeot 307 (either 3dr or 5dr) and put it next to a honda civic (again, 3dr or 5dr) you will see they are almost identical.

also, check out the toyota corolla ts hatchback:

I agree, but Honda admitted to copying the European Focus hatch is all I'm saying. I'm sure all of them look the same - in fact... I'd put my money on it.

didnt read the rest of the thread, but i would have to say the main reason is money, just like the other 7g civics is only now taking off overall. I see a lot more heavily modded 4th and 5th gens than i do newer models.

That is some ricer math right there. That's like saying. "A Dodge viper ain't s**t if you take it's whee's off."

Well, you can't and you certainly aren't taking a turbo off of an SRT-4. It comes with it, it makes mad power, just deal.

No one's using that argument with Porsche's, AMG Benz's, or even the covetted EVO and STI.

Plain ricer math.

hahahha much love for yah splitfire, but you just got :ownded:

whenever someone starts playing the "if" word you're just spewing useless s**t out the mouth

did anyone peep the video i posted of the stage one srt4 winning against the turbo rsx-s?

IF you were running 17psi you wouldnt be pushing 350whp, you'd be looking for a new motor

hmm...sounds more like on what you want to drive...doesnt matter what you have, as long as you have the money to make it fast then you could talk, if you dont then dont say s**t. im sick of people talking about how the SRT-4 is s**t and how they should of gotten so and so. WHo cares, they chose the car for their own reasons and the soul reason is that theyre faster and better than HONDAS, i even admit it, honda isnt exactly the best company out there, they produce economy vehicles that produce low numbers to save gas, theyre not soul-bred race cars like the SRT-4 and EVO and STi. If they where then they'd make higher numbers. the NSX and S2000s are JOKES. seriously 90k for only about 250+ hp? ONLY 240hp for 32k?? what the hell is that all about. for 32k your in STi land being 300hp/tq numbers AND AWD. its a joke how honda TRYS to produce a car thats "quick" while tryin to save the world, im sorry but those two factors will never work together.

didnt read all of the replies..but far as my own opinion goes Honda did it right going back to hatches!! the only big problem i have with the new ep3's would be their stock motor. 160 is pretty dam weak.. i would have to agree..body style..i think they look great with mods.. all cars grow on me.. i didnt like the eg at first cuz it looked like an egg..and then i just loved it and bam i owned one..same goes for the ep...im not real sure why its not as popular as it should be..maybe being so dam high makes it look vanbuggying? =/
