at least I'm not alone on this. My other issue with Audiobahn (plenty of other companies too, like Phoenix Gold, for example) is the style. I'm sorry, no one SHOULD give a s**t you have an ugly flame for a basket. I think that's f**king retarded. They look ridiculous... and it's the stupidest reason to like a woofer.

Just a rant, sorry.

Hey, spencey, are you in phoenix still?

i have a pair of sony xplods, they sound great, ive had them for 5 years now.....yea they sounded shitty when i bought them new, but now i broke them in and sound great. ...i think it has to do with the people putting more bass into a sub thats not broken in to, like forcing it to bump, now thats not good is it...

my sony sub is on the way out. so far i've seen a 50/50 like, dislike on the audiobahns. my other choice for subwoofers would be the Infinity kappa's. I've found some great deals on the audiobahns on ebay (under $50 shipped) for their aw120t. i want my system to be loud but i also want the sound quality at the lower volumes. I'm gonna go check out some reviews on the audiobahns and if i find more bad reviews, i dont think that they'll be worth getting and i'll just get the Kappa's.

Infinity > Audiobahn

=)

I have a pair of Infinity 8s that I would LOVE to put in my car for midbass drivers... oh would I love to... but, alas, no room. :( But I don't have the heart to get rid of them either.

I prefer my Alpine components... but nothing wrong with Infinitys. That's what I originally wanted... but decided to go with the Type Rs. =)

If I wanted a smaller system, Infinity woofers wouldn't be a bad choice at all. :D

I have had a couple sets of Audiobahn's and i personally didn't like them. They were plently loud but thats about it. If you like really loud bass go for it but thats all you get. I personally like very crisp and clear bass. I have a set of Solo-Baric kickers (the square ones) L5's and they are extreemly clear. I noticed with the audiobahn that the beats kind of ran together instead of individual beats and that really bugged me. I would say go with kicker cuz they are fairly loud and they are extreemly clear!! Plus they require less room in a box so less trunk room is taken up!!

I've heard nothing but good things about MMats. I'd give 'em try. I'd love to actually hear them in a car, but I've never seen them in a car around here (heaven forbid someone get something other than Kicker in this area, I swear!)...

i had bad experiences with AudioBahn, i use to have a 1000 watt amp with digital equalizers and the thing started coming apart in less then 2 months, then i went to two flame audiobahn 15inch subs, it sounded shitty as hell, my two kicker vr competition subs sounded better then those...

I never really got into audiobahn because some people I know blew the subs really easy. But then again they got new ones right away because they have a good warranty.

um... pioneers are much nicer than audiobahns.

but, we all know what i think of low quality, ricey SPL woofers. you can save up, pay a bit more for SPL AND sound quality you know. loud doesn't have to sound like s**t.
I agree with you 100% on this..But personally the only thing I like about Pioneer are the decks. I have a Premier deck and couldnt be happier, but I have not heard the same out of the amps/subs.

Jesus, you fv(kers know nothing about car audio. Audiobahn makes some nicer stuff if you want to shell out 500 bucks a sub. something you WONT find in a cheaper audiobahn product is RELIABILITY, so i would be more inclined to look elsewhere. 3rd party is where it is at right now.. Check out Ascendent Audio, Sound Splinter, RE, Stereo Integrity, etc..

if you want something with a recognizable brand name, Pioneer Premier subs can be had on ebay for about 120 shipped.. these are extremely nice subs for the money. many places online will have specials on Image Dynamics from time to time, and I will highly recommend these as well. the IDQ has been an excellent sub for the past few years, it has always impressed me..

then again, if you only care about the rice factor, and want a sub that looks all hizzot with chrizome, buy the audiobahn. 6 months later it will make a nice candy dish for your coffee table.

one thing I might mention to you also, if you buy subs from ebay or an unauthorized dealer, the sub you are getting might have been tampered with in order to remove the serial number. Very common with JL audio sales online. they cut the spider, grind off the serial #, and glue it back so it cant be traced to the original purchaser (dealer). just a heads up

It's all about the amp. You can make shitty subs sound good with the right amp. You can't make a shitty amp sound good with the right subs. The Audiobahns Flame Qs are high quality subs with good SPL and quality. Make sure you get a good amp. What amp do you plan on using?

I can't believe you people. You guys really don't understand how subs work do you? It's all about the voltage and efficiency of the AMP. Pioneer subs aren't better than Audiobahns. Let me explain this to you. Lets say you have an AW1206T from Adiobahn. This sub has a 1100W RMS rating. So essentially, you would want an amp that can push around 1100W RMS. These amps are extremely expensive. Retarded people try to push huge subs with little 300W amps. In order to get a "good" sound from high wattage subs, they have to turn the volume up real loud. This causes an extreme amount of distortion and that distortion can destroy a sub very easily.

If you can't afford a $1000 amp, then don't buy 1100W RMS subs. Simple no?

you can make any speaker sound good given the proper circumstances. audiobahn is a cheap sub that gets loud, and thats about it. Reliability and sound quality are not something you will find with the cheaper audiobahn subs.
