Well, I received my GV lip finally. I was suprised it was still brand new and came with mounting hardware, I thought I bought a used one haha. Anywho, this one is a knockoff, and is polyurethane. It's somewhat warped still, but I'll set it out in the sun tomorrow and see if I can get it to sit properly again haha.

Also, I got this shift knob from a friends old Miata. It won't replace my Joyfast knob, it's just nice to have a selection of knobs :P

I ordered a full head rebuild kit for the Miata, and will most likely order a roll bar next while I'm still waiting for my wheels!

so it is decided the head is warped? i cant remember, your keeping it, but are you staying na or going boost? also those motors i thought were cheap, how cheap is a rebuild? and if your rebuilding the head does that mean new goodie bits in there :D

Nah nothings warped, but the lifters are tapping and the valve stem seals are bad, which causes it to smoke. So, the rebuild kit was only like 80$, and thats with an OEM head gasket and valve stem seals =)

My plan is to buy a 1.8L swap, and yeah they're pretty inexpensive, I can get a longblock for about 400-500$, and I'll be rebuilding that for boost in the end =)

Cool thing is, I can still use my 1.6 tranny on the 1.8 =)

what's the common swap outside of the 1.8? how far down the road is a swap for you anyways?

Most common is 1.8, but because 94-97 Miata's (not counting later years which also come with them) already came with them, they normally just stick with them anyways, they're great motors.

But, because us with the 89-93's have crappy 1.6's, 1.8 is the next step up =)

Not too far down, I need my wheels on and my roll bar purchased, then I will focus on new suspension, 1.8, and all that good stuff haha.

so are f20's, rotary and 4age's but i meant "common" you know how civics usually get b16/18 vtec and non-vetc b20 d16 the list goes on for some while i was looking to see if there was a support market like that for this car, but from his post it would look to be there is really only one swap that people do then go FI on it.

Alright few more updates, I purchased front and rear brake caliper brackets from a 94-97 Miata, and also purchased slotted rotors F&R, so I can do my much needed 1.8 brake upgrade! Just gotta pickup some pads, which I'm still deciding on.

I also decided to purchase another KG Works rear spoiler, I kept deciding which spoiler to go with and couldn't figure it out. I had a KG Works before, but I wasn't happy with the quality nor how it mounted, but I loved the look of it. So this time I have a different way I'll get it to stay on the trunk lid.

So now, here's the parts I'm waiting to come in the mail:
15X7.5" +0 Konig B Bombs
195/50 Dunlop Direzza DZ101's
KG Works spoiler
94-97 Brake caliper brackets
94-97 slotted rotors

So, when all this stuff is in it will be a good day! Tax return cash will go toward my much needed roll bar.

Stay tuned!

I don't plan to this time haha. Its going to be my auto-x car this year, and hopefully more years down the road! haha.

Okay so I figured I'd revive my stock wheels today. They were in HORRID condition..

Here was the current condition of all of my wheels..

I thought it was rusted nastyness..I've never been able to get it off just by cleaning it, so I never worried about it..

Then, I brought out my two best friends. Simple Green and my wire brush!

And magic happened...compare the left side to the right side..

And one wheel DONE! I'm very happy with the outcome. I've always somewhat liked these wheels, but hated how bad of condition they were in. This makes my car look not-so crappy haha.

So yeah! I'm off to do the other 3...definitely takes awhile but will be worth it in the end =)

Thanks man

It's a sweet cage at a good price, but I have no need for it to be honest. I'll mainly be using the car for auto-x, so all that added weight would be a killer. If I was doing some Spec Miata stuff, I'd be all over it for sure though.
