they'd produce replicas if i send to them? i should email them and start talks about it. i'll look into it.

ya thats true i gotta jumper it and check i suppose. kinda odd that they aren't on all the time only after like 10+ minutes of straight driving.

some things need time to produce codes i.e. emissions not hooked up right, your fuel system could lead to a code like this... if i were you i would get the code before doing any other work. maintain before abuse, remember that, live by that.

i totally agree with that. running smoothly for each step along the way was my plan. guess i'll see if i can get the light to come on then jumper the ecu to get the code today on my drive. i'm hoping it'll make the trip. wish me luck. this should be fun.

So i've been debating what to do next. i kinda got away from what i was originally thinking with the car. it was supposed to be my track car and just mess around and have fun with. instead i got into painting it. stupid me. anyway. trying to figure out what i should do with it next. I could keep the D but i've have to figure out some issues with it, or i could swap something. i got a quote from a wrecker locally for a B20 complete swap (engine, trans [no transfer case or shiftlinkage], ecu, alternator, starter, flywheel, and left axle) for $1500. i was also doing some research on the G23 (F22 block + H23 head). Probably cheaper for the G23 but less headaches with the B20. Thoughts or opinions on each?

well i only got an hour into my drive home the other day and the transmission decided it was quittin time. managed to coast into a parking lot and tried to change gears to get going again and now the trans is locked and the tires don't spin. hooray... so now i gotta do something.

I got a buddy with a full B18 swap (axles, mounts, ecu, engine, trans, shift linkage, etc). everything except a harness. all for $1000.

I was thinking of just getting a new trans and boosting the D but I'm not sure. so right now i'm just labelling the wire harness on the d16 for when i yank it incase i either put it back in, or sell it.

oh! and i figured out why the speedo didn't work, and possibly the check engine light as well. at the same time. go figure.. ummm whoever had the car before decided to connect the VSS to the O2 sensor on the header before the cat.... is that the way its supposed to be?!

they actually did make them with a b16 for a year or two. i've got a line on a complete odb1 swap for 650. i'm talking with the guy over the next couple days, so we'll see how that goes.

started ripping into it again last night. picked up the engine and axles. might have found a buyer for most of my D series turbo kit.

managed to get the clutch disconnected from the pedal, headlights and aux lights disconnected, ecu out, engine fuse box out, now tracing the wires around the bay disconnected them from the sides. also took off the rad hoses (upper and lower), and the gas line, and some other random stuff. the wires leading from the engine bay to the ecu are going to be a little tricky because the battery support (or whatever the part that it sits on) is rusted to the side of the bay. i can't get one bolt off. and the wires go under it. so that'll be tricky. i'll come back to it. i'll take some pictures at lunch
