1.7l non vtec....can't it be a little faster?

Yeah, many have tried and barely squeezed enough out to make it worth the money. The question gets asked once a week probably. Bolt ons are good for sound and a very minimal amount of hp but nothing to call home about. It takes a good amount of money to make these fast.

    Can someone teach me manual?

Teach yourself. People do it all the time. I did; my dad showed me the very basics and then threw the keys to the truck that was handed down to me one morning before school and said drive it or ride the bus, or ride your bmx, choice is yours. The best way to learn is hands on and most people...

Yup. Figured as much. Wouldn't expect anything less from someone like you. There are a couple members on here you would fit in very well with. They love trolling too. /thread is closed, thank you for wasting everyone's time. Next time you have a question, learn how to word it correctly...

1.7l non vtec....can't it be a little faster?

Not for that motor for cheap. Bolt ons are a waste. Only real power will come from a swap to a bigger motor or forced induction. It was built specifically slow for great gas mileage. Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk

Hope you weren't talking to me, because I would bet a good guess that I make more in a week than you do in a month. Nice try though. If you weren't then you need to figure out how to use that keyboard before talking s**t kiddo. Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk

    98 Honda Civic Problem..

Oem for the distributor. They are expensive but are worth it. As you found, trying to cheap out on them will cost you more in the long run having to keep replacing them. Had mine go out and tried the same thing; 3 distributors later finally went new/reman OEM and the car ran like a top until...

    Help With Door Lock Please!!!

You aren't supposed to be able to lock the driver's door without pulling the handle first. Like mc360 said, it's a safety feature. Most asian brands utilize this feature from what I have found.

Buying used Honda Civic 2007 1.8VTEC

Again you post minorities, not majorities nor averages. Most are a failure of a component not the whole engine. You would think, by your assumptions our VW and Audi stores would be completely busy just replacing 1.8t engines... True, a lot have the coil packs replaced under the coil pack...

Buying used Honda Civic 2007 1.8VTEC

Please tell me what brand of vehicle can't make 125k miles? Seriously? So you are telling us that these BMW and Mazdas that you are talking about won't hit that mileage? What you are talking about is a MINORITY not an average. Even with the n47 timing chain failures, they are still a low...

    Sad news

Project car as an only vehicle with no job? How do you get anything done? Get a job. /problem solved. Sucks about the accident though. $600 in good condition? Can't even get a running one for that price here.

Buying used Honda Civic 2007 1.8VTEC

That is like asking how long a person is going to live. I have seen them die at less than 100k and have seen them go over half a million and I am sure others have seen more. We had a trade in here that went to wholesale, a 6th gen coupe that had 530,xxx on it. It is possible that it had a new...

Hey, who hasn't done something like this? I know I did 20 years ago back when I was a teenager. I think it is tacky as hell now, and very impractical, but to each there own and everyone has to learn their own way. I bet every single person has done something like this throughout their life...

Dude, Bosch isn't crap that is the second time in 24 hours that you have bashed a well known, highly used brand without backing it up. Just because Honda's aren't tuned for them or have trouble running with them doesn't mean the brand is crap. Would almost every German auto brand run them from...

2004 Civic has trouble with acceleration...

It depends a lot on the transmission that is in the car. Different trim models had shorter ratios. Either way, think about it if you are on the freeway doing 70+, high rpms aren't a fault of the engine it would be on the transmission and/or the clutch. If you are really 500-1000 rpms above...

2004 Civic has trouble with acceleration...

Now I am even more convinced it is just a slow gas beast of a honda. They are built slow to get the best mileage possible. Not to say something isn't wrong, but it just isn't adding up unless we aren't getting all the information. Sounds like a typical Honda, especially on the hills. I had...
