finally some progress. ever since starting my job ive been so busy and tired afterwards, not to mention i just got back from IL for thanksgiviing. so since i had today off and it was super nice out, i am now ready to drop the motor in EVERYTHING is done on the motor, i just have to put on the PS removal kit and itll be time to put the motor back in. i have help available on tues (as long as i help him pull his built h22 turbo out of his EM1 )so i think ill wait til then so i dont have to do it myself, and then it should be in and running tuesday night.

oh yeah, im gonna repaint the valve cover flat black, it didnt turn out as good as id like the last time i did it gloss black.

ok its back in finally. im pretty happy with my quick 30 min job on the valve cover, itll atleast work til i have it powdercoated or get some wrinkle black. definatly looks better with this flat black and sanded lettering as opposed to the gloss black i did last time. im replacing a few hoses, wiring it back in, putting the axles back in, shift linkage, radiator and we should be ready to rock n roll. thursday is the proposed day

btw, anyone wondering about the padawon power steering removal kit.....super easy to hook up, totally complete with everything, and should work awesome. i also removed the ac and cruise control......now, if only i could get rid of all of the ABS bullshit!

finally i decided on the break in process for the motor. coincedently it works well with the clutch/flywheel break in as well. if anyone has ever looked into "how to break in a new motor" you hear a bunch of different things, and its always just a preference thing, no matter how you do it. so im just gonna run standard 5w-30 oil. for the first 100 miles, drive easy, yet fluctuating the rpms to help seat the valve seals at all rpms (but not drive hard). change the oil. drive the same way for another 400 miles. make a couple hard pulls for the clutch, drive another 100 miles. change oil. then it should be ready, motor and clutch. then ill change the oil regularly 2000-3000 miles.

some may not agree, but like i said, everyone does it different and im convinced there is little to no difference. some say drive it hard right from the start, some dont. its always a half a dozen of one, and six of the other. and when you buy a new car, honda doesnt tell you to drive easy for xxxx amount of miles. when they roll the car off the assembly line, they drive it around the corner along the building and up onto a dyno where they instantly romp on it.....

yeah, BUT, they also rebuild the motor at the end of the day but yeah, i think i will be fine with 500-600 miles on it

Wow, this build up is coming along nicely. I'm thinking about starting my build up thread but I get parts so slowly it'll get shuffled to the back of the threads every week.

haha, yeah, started it up for the first time tonight. 2-3 cranks and started right up. got to bleed the clutch, top off the coolant, hook up the exhaust and a few other random misc things and she will be ready to hit the road. finally 3 1/2 months later, this was the sound ive been waiting to hear lol.
