Nope. D to D, B to B, K to K, etc. But you can't swap a B-series into a 7th gen. You can swap an entire K20A2 in there but it requires a bit more work than most motor swaps. I wouldn't call it "bolt up" by any means.

@Bowyorang With no load (AC, lights, etc. all off), and the engine fully warmed up, unplug the IACV. Does anything happen? You will get a CEL for unplugging it though, just a heads up. Test TPS voltage as well. It should read ~0.45V - 0.50V at idle.

I use ODB Fusion for iOS along with a wifi ODB2 adapter that I found on Amazon. I love it!

:welcome: What's the maintenance history on the car? If you aren't sure, I would start with the basics -- replaced spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, etc. The car acts fine when the engine is cold? This leads me to believe it's a sensor related issue. Is the check engine light on?

I think the kit should work for both. Generally all D-series kits should be nearly identical. The main difference in those motors IIRC is just the cam profile.

Well this would just mean that he doesn't have the correct basemap. When they come from Xenocron, Phearable, wherever, they will ask you information about your engine. They'll ask about the year /model of the car, motor specs, map sensor, injector size, etc. Based on the info provided to them is...

Do you have a wideband o2 sensor gauge hooked up? If not I would look into getting one. It's the most important gauge you can have for a boosted car. Will help with diagnosing rich/lean conditions along with other things. Assuming he has the correct basemap, the car should at least still start...
