    My 2000 EX

Love the progress on this thing... it's coming together nicely now that it's in the hands of an owner who knows what they're doing! :thumbs up

2004 Civic EX - vibration at low RPM while engaging new clutch

I don't think it would be the flywheel either -- resurfacing it should work just fine. Did you break in the new clutch appropriately? 300-500 city miles of calm, normal driving and normal 2-3k shifting. Otherwise it's possible that they never lined up the clutch disc properly, or that the...

    Boosting a d15

It will be very, very hard to get all this done with $1000. Tuning alone should run you $500. My advice, save your $ and plan to turbo it correctly. Expect to spent upwards of $2500. Don't cheap out on crappy parts that will likely break. Remember, you're going to be forcing a whole lot of...

    Introduction: 2000 Civic CX

If you got the turbo installed and everything running, do NOT hit boost until you get it fully tuned, even if you have a basemap for a turbocharged engine. Get a good quality tune, and you will save $$$ in the long run by not blowing it up.

turbo ek: exhaust smoking, high idle

So it's not really tuned. But when you changed the turbo out, was the replacement of the same spec?

    Lowering suggestions: 04 Civic

You have two options: struts and spring combo, or coilovers. Neither will be as comfortable as properly working OEM though. Like HeX said, your best option is to research owner experience. I have Tein Street Advance coilovers -- they're more rough than OEM but not super harsh. Some coilovers...

New Head Gasket Leak After Install

OP, did you reuse the same head bolts? OEM head bolts are known for stretching and often times are replaced along with the head gasket. A stretched head bolt can cause the head to lift off the block and cause leaks. Did you also check with a Helms manual to see if the head and block were both...

    Boosting a d15

This isn't out of the question, but likely overkill for what OP wants, judging by his clause of wanting low boost, even though low psi is irrelevant as it's the size of the turbo that really matters. @Pr0n1s what's your power goal, HP wise? And what's your budget? PSI is irrelevent because 6psi...

    Anti-Upgrades: What's considered "Ricey"

I've owned just about all of these, so I'm going to go through the list... Altezza's -- Yep I owned them. First mod I did to my stock Civic LX when I was 16. They were poorly made and the bulbs were too close to the tail light housing, so they fused together. When I swapped the altezza's...

    turbo an 01 ex civic?

It's hard to say because it's not our money you're spending, it's yours. Are you willing to spend $3000-5000? If so, yes. If you are not willing to spend it, then no. http://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-2001-2005-78/turbo-thread-boost-noobies-1897200/

    Boosting a d15

What model do you have? EX / LX / etc? EX comes with a D16 motor, others come with D15. My guess is that you have an EX but the motor had issues and the previous owner swapped in a D16. In short, you can just bolt on and go, but it will not last. You need to tune the car, otherwise it's going...

    Adjusting Truhart coilovers

If they're like most coilovers, they should have come with spanner wrenches. Use those to turn the two locked rings. Adjust to your liking.

You should be running 91 Octane or higher anyways. Using anything less is not good for the engine.
