obd1 swap rough idle/no throttle input [video]

OP, I have a used OBD2 > OBD1 conversion harness if you want to try it. It worked fine before I parted out my Civic. Just pay shipping and it's yours.

Whoops. Didn't even realize we were talking about a 7th gen, my mistake.

Anyone install 7" flip out radio in lower din?

There is an adapter that will allow you to put an aftermarket radio in and keep your keyless. The kicker -- you have to keep the OEM radio in there and just tuck it in behind the dash somewhere. I don't recommend that, but it's doable. Alternatively, you can do the same and install the radio in...

    Blinking CEL on Downshift

I would start there. Check the distributor for damage or bad wires. Replace the plug wires too. Did you reset the ECU after working on all the Vtec stuff?

    Blinking CEL on Downshift

A flashing CEL means do NOT drive the car, because you can seriously screw something up. Did this problem just happen out of the blue, or did you do any recent maintenance? Speaking of maintenance, when's the last time the car had a tune up? Spark plugs, wires, inspect the distributor, etc? A...

    XpL0d3r's RSX DC5 Type-S Thread

And all but confirmed my rear passenger caliper has seized up. 3 mile drive to work gets that one wheel HOT. I can actually hear the rotor cooling down. Need to do a couple small drives tomorrow morning, and hopefully get this fixed this weekend. Might as well go a little lower, too, while I'm...

    Fender trim residue removal

I think his point is that time is valuable. Why work harder and take longer when you can spend $4 at the store for some Goo Gone and do it easily? Another example: would you rather cut down a large tree with a chain saw, or use some 'good 'ol fashioned elbow grease' and use a hand saw to do that...

obd1 swap rough idle/no throttle input [video]

CEL looks like it is flashing code 41 in the video when you first start it. Then it goes away. Code 41 is o2 sensor related.. check on that. Try jumping the service connector (blue 2p) by the ECU, to see if this code 41, or any other codes shows up. It's possible the issue lies with your ECU or...

    Mentor ??

A mentor really is the best option. I learned more about my car doing hands on stuff learning from @Szady than I ever did reading online. Plenty of information here, but you never truly get an understanding of it unless you're hands on. I would recommend looking for any local automotive forums...

Always sad to see a car like that go. But I'm glad it's going to someone who sounds like they (probably) won't abuse the crap out of it!

Looks like Roxanne (my RSX) is finally starting to need a clutch. At least a throw-out bearing is making a noise. 158k on the original clutch is pretty good though so I can't complain. Still shifts pretty much perfectly, but the grab point isn't consistent.. sometimes it catches high, sometimes...

    Rim paint

Yep! At Accurate Paint & Powder Coating. It would have been $350 with the clear, but they had some important project they needed to finish which pushed getting my wheels done back a couple days. So the owner was nice and cleared them for no cost. :thumbs up

This. I just had mine done in white, cost me $300 for them to sandblast, coat, and clear.
