the srt's come turbocharged while the civics don't. For less than 20g's, instead of buying a neon srt, a person can build a 12 second civic or faster.

You would have to compair the R/T to the SI not to a EX not look at those tw o and you would deffently have a race on your hands .
As for the SRT-4 it cost 21,000 and the Civis SI cost what 18,900
now spend the difference on a Gready Turbo and then we'll see?

I don't hardly see any Neon R/T's anymore. I see lots of 4 lug 13" tire 3spd automatic poofta neons though...and I destroy all of them even though I give up 7hp (94 EX = 125, 1st gen SOHC Neon =132). Maybe the R/T's weren't so reliable...I know neons are known for "scrubbing" their head gaskets but I guess they are just not worth repairing at that point.

Don't try to call an SRT/4 a Neon at a Dodge dealership. Dodge is funny about that. (though we all know it is a Neon.)

srt4's cost $19k... but close, their entire advertising is set around "the fastest car you can buy for under $20k"

so lets compare srt4's to s2k's (it's kinda cool that a car that only cost's $19k is being compared to the s2000, sti, and evo... that's pretty flattering for the srt4) for nearly ten thousand dollars less than the cost of a s2000 the srt4 has 230 hp and 250 ft/lp of torque. the s2000 has 240hp and 162 pounds of torque. true that the s2000's 9000 rpm redline is pretty kick ass... but the srt4's mitsubishi turbo kicks ass too.... the srt4 is rated at 14.2 second 1/4 mile but i've seen many many stock time slips where they run 13.7/8. from what i remember (correct me if i'm wrong) the s2000 is rated at a 13.9 second 1/4 mile. with all of the upgrades availiable from mopar for the srt-4 there are many srt4's running low 13's high 12's all with factory parts and all under complete factory warranty (no buying extra parts or swapping back on the originals to make up some bs excuse as to why your motor blew up like you'd have to do with a modded honda) and with all of the factory upgrades the total dollar amount is still under $21k.... but on the same note, i dont think the s2000 is really concidered a drag car

and as for the si only costing $19k... the honda dealership right down the road has 3 of them out front all with stickers that say "$21,000"

that video was shitty as hell, the kids in the neons were complete fags that deserved to be taken out back and shot... but then again so does the kid in that busted up civic for even attempting to race that piece of rusty landfill material

For real that wasnt even a race! the civic didnt show any signs of wanting race. Also I would take a Srt-4 over a civic any day I mean there turbo with factory warrenty, i mean come on its a nice daily driver. Personally I dont like the idea of engine swap its kind of like cheating when you race because your not using the same powerplant you car came with I dont know....as far as the vid it was crappy as hell.

O.K. I have some friends with those cars One with a SRT-4 and another with a R/T and then a lot with Civic's now the one I'm talking about is a 99 SI we went to race on the Autobon in Germany (thats where I'm stationed) both only have the basics ,intake,exhust- header and chip and let me tell you the R/T can keep up till about 115 then after that the VTEC comes in handy and blows off its doors till the 135-140 range. So
HONDA 1-DODGE -0
And as for the SRT-4 I'm talking about a 99 SI not a 03 and even thou I was wrong because a 99 SI runs for 15000 blus book and yes Dodge says 19,000 but there is a little thing we all have to pay when we buy a new car and that is TAXES So that puts that 19,000 car to 21,000
HONDA 2-DODGE -0

X buuuzzzzzz wrong!

Fully built up DSM motor out of a 98 Eclipse GS??

Eclipse GS does not have a DSM motor, specifically not the 4G63. The Eclipse GS has a Chrysler motor. The same motor as a Neon.

let's review,2nd gen Eclipse RS & GS=Chrysler's 2.0: Eclipse GST & GSX= DSM 4G63 Turbo. They occupy opposite sides of the engine compartment to further differentiate them
