i hope you get a bisi cam! special work as in coating, or notched/ filled? ACL race bearings worked well in my setup so i can recommend them. if you're shooting for 12:1 CR you should use Neptune instead of CHROME for tuning, just my advice.

sounds like you have a good plan for your setup. if you want i have some CBR 929RR ITB's that would compliment your set-up nicely

The cam will be a little more budget minded then a Bisi for this setup to be honest.
Yeah the pistons will get the valve reliefs cut, tops polished, and maybe coated depending on cost.
I never said chrome lol. Looks like I'll get to order that Neptune RTP tomorrow though .
I would love to run ITB's in the future, but that's another $600-$1000 that I can't spend right now ((and don't tempt me by undercuting my guestimations on cost, as I'm almost done with this build and have to get this bad boy in and running soon lol)).

This inspires me as my hatch has a y7 swap, and I wanna take it one step further and minime it.

Just to pass info along that I've been corrected on awhile ago...the "mini-me" was named from a non-vtec d15 block with a d16 vtec head, so some complain when you call a d16 combo a mini-me just fyi .
Not to mention that the Y7 and Y8 blocks are basically the same other than pistons and oil pan

It's the AEM filter for now but it's like new. The K&N will be on the list the very first tune-up after break in though

That is an AEM Dry flow on that pipe. You would be dumb to throw it out, those are proven to be the best out their.. No oil to mess up sensors and better flow/filtration than even a K&N. You can wash it and re-use it. I mean if you want to toss it, send it to me lol

Ya know your right about the filter, I admit that I had a dumb moment

It's a done deal, my ecu will be back with the Demon inside in a week or so.
The price helped seal the deal, and I have complete faith it will be able to handle everything I'll throw at it.
The only tuning solutions I really looked deap into was Neptune and Hondata, and at the end of the day you can compare thier relationship ("which one is better?") to any 2 other large competing companies in other various industries.....

I had somebody on another forum ask if I planned to "gasket match" the Hondata gasket, I said no and this is why:

Pretty flush where it counts

then I held it on the intake mani

I've learned everything I know about patience from this project.
It's hard to wait trust me, I have a year or so invested since the first day I started gathering parts, no reason to rush it now lol

Yeah it's my first actual engine build so I hope all of this (down time/ research time/ lack of funds) pays off in the end

It adds up quick but it is what it is! The funny thing is, it's still a "budget build".
My target goal from the beginning was in the 3 G's range, so I think I'm right on par and have done well

I was on a site with that same name last night looking up bass guitar tabs lol.
Anyways, I'm glad to inspire man, I'm just an average guy (w/ underaverage income) trying to do it right the best I can. I'm itching for more too, it becomes quite addictive and I can't wait to get it finished.

You're already on the right track, I lurked forums and read through build threads for about a year and a half or longer before I ever got in a position to start laying out the plan and buying parts.Hell I didn't even have any tools to work on my own car in the beginning, after reading up on the basic tools I would need I spent the next 6 months gathering up like a squirrel getting ready for winter. It's almost been a year now since I scooped up that Z6 head and everything else followed.

Welcome to the site man, good people here. If you ever have any questions then feel free to ask, I may not be able to help much but I could always point you in a good direction.
